UPA Chairperson and Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday visited AIIMS to enquire about the health of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee who has been put on ventilation due to respiratory tract infection.
Gandhi, who drove to the hospital in the afternoon, spent some time with Vajpayee’s foster daughter Namita. She also spoke to doctors attending on the 84-year-old BJP veteran. He was put on mechanical ventilation on Friday after the respiratory infection worsened.
Gandhi, however did not speak to the mediapersons and left the premises within 10 minutes.
