Touch Screen Goodness
Motorola has announced its latest Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional device, the MOTOSURF A3100 which features a custom UI designed by Motorola paired up with a flat touch screen display. The A3100 also offers a selection of features that you'd expect to find on a modern Windows Mobile device.
The screen measures 2.8-inches, but we're disappointed with the QVGA (320x240) pixel resolution, as this isn't exactly cutting edge. Other features include HSDPA support up to 7.2Mbit, HSUPA up to 2Mbit, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, a 3Megapixel camera with auto focus, aGPS and a microSD card slot.
The CPU comes from Qualcomm and judging by the model number it should be clocked at 528MHz. There's also 128MB of RAM and 256MB of ROM. The A3100 works on all four GSM band as well as the 850, 1900 and 2100MHz 3G bands.
Motorola claims up to 6.8h talk time and 12.4 days standby time in GSM mode, but no figures were quoted for 3G. The A3100 measures 110x59.7x13.7mm (HxWxD) and weighs in at 119 grams. It's expected to be available from Q1 this year, although no pricing was revealed
