The undisputed heavyweight champion of Bollywood music AR Rahman has reached another milestone - he has been nominated for composing the score of 'Slumdog Millionaire' at the prestigeous Golden Globe Awards.

Looking over the surprises I would have to say 'The Reader' getting in as a Best Picture (Drama) nominee while films such as 'The Dark Knight' and 'Milk' get snubbed is a major surprise.
Kate Winslet was a double nom (Revolutionary Road and The Reader), as was Meryl Streep (Doubt and Mamma Mia!).
In terms of leaders, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Doubt and Frost/Nixon came away with five nominations each with The Reader, Revolutionary Road, Slumdog Millionaire and Vicky Cristina Barcelona all earning four. Warner Bros. is the studio winner with 11 nominations with Universal (9), The Weinstein Co. (8), Fox Searchlight and Miramax (7) rounding out the top five.
